Norfolk - James Walter Perry, of 1812 East Liberty street, South Norfolk, who
was one of the city’s leading colored merchants, died at his home on July 16
after a long illness.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday at St. James AME Church. Burial was in
Calvary Cemetery.

Until the time of death, Mrs. Perry operated a grocery store at 1829 East
Liberty street.

(per death certificate burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery,Norfolk VA.  Name on
death certificate is James Walter Perry)
