Kelly Perry Dies, Aged 55 Final Rites Tomorrow For Veteran Employe Of Norfolk Papers James Kelly Perry, 55, who had been employed about 30 years by the Norfolk Newspapers, Inc., died at 5:03 o'clock yesterday morning at a local hospital after a long illness. At the time of his death, Mr. Perry was a proofreader on the Virginian- Pilot. He was a native of North Carolina, and had made his home in Norfolk the greater part of his life. He resided at 230 West Thirty-third street. He was a son of the late Robert M. and Mrs. Ida K. Perry. For several years he served as statistician for the Virginia League. At one time he was employed by the Richmond Times-Dispatch, and for a period he had his own job printing plant. During the greater portion of his service with the Virginian-Pilot he was a linotype operator. Mr. Perry was a member of the Norfolk Typographical Union. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sarepta Barkley Perry; two sons, James B. "Pat" Perry, of Columbia, S.C. and Robert B. Perry of Norfolk; a brother, M. Carlyle Perry and two nieces, Mrs. Henry New and Mrs. Eleanor Mares, all of Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the funeral chapel of James V. Derry, 1920 Colley avenue. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
