                 George Robert Perry Dies; Funeral Sunday

George Robert Perry, 71, of 739 Reservoir Ave., died Wednesday at 10 a.m. in a 
Norfolk hospital after an illness of two years. He was a native of Huntersville, 
W. Va. and had lived here for 20 years. He had been employed as a longshoreman 
since 1938.
He was a member of the National Ideal Benefit Society No. 79, the Knights of 
Pythias, Friendship Lodge and of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and a member of the 
church trustee board.
He is survived only by his wife, Mrs. Rosa E. Perry.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church 
by the Rev. J.W. Acklin, pastor. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The body 
will lie in state at the Riddick Funeral Chapel from Saturday at 4 p.m. until 
funeral time Sunday.
