The Norfolk Virginian-Pilot Thursday January 20, 1938
Mrs. Josephine Cherry Peter died at her home in Cleveland, Ohio, Tuesday and 
the body will arrive here for burial in the family plot in Magnolia Cemetery 
this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock.

Mrs. Peter was a resident of this community about 30 years ago when her first 
husband conducted a grocery at East Berkley avenue and Seventh street. She is 
survived by her present husband and a daughter Mrs. Rosa Cherry Carroll, of 
Cleveland.

Funeral services will be conducted at the J.R. Williams Funeral Home, 1027 
Chesapeake avenue, South Norfolk, this morning at 11 o'clock.
