Virginian-Pilot  June 27 & 28, 1930
Miss Virginia Emily Petit, aged 75, daughter of the late Onesime and Mary Roney 
Petit, died at 3:35 o’clock yesterday morning at a local hospital. She was a 
native of Canada, but had been a resident of Norfolk for a number of years. She is 
survived by one nephew, Francis W. Day, of Hampton. Funeral arrangements will be 
announced later.

Miss Virginia Emily Petit - Funeral services for Miss Petit, whose death occurred 
Thursday at a local hospital, will be held at H. D. Oliver’s Funeral Apartments, 
610-12 East Freemason street, this afternoon at 2 o’clock. The Rev. E. A. Brosnan, 
pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.
