H. Lankford of 918 Oaklawn avenue, was held Sunday at St. Paul CME Church. The Rev. P. G. Kemp delivered the eulogy and the choir sang Mrs. Petty’s favorite hymns. Burial was in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery under direction of Crocker Funeral Home in Suffolk. Mrs. Petty, wife of the late Harry Petty was active in church and civic work. Her pallbearers were Kyle Wood, James Wright, W. A. Bowers, George Cherry, Bennie Doyle and J. C. Bess. Flower bearers were members of the senior usher board. In addition to Mrs. Lankford, the deceased is survived by four stepdaughters, Miss Ada Petty, Miss Annie Petty and Mrs. Mildred Hill of Norfolk and Mrs. Mable Mann of New York; a niece, Mrs. Ollie Boyd of New York; a brother-in-law, J. H.
