The Norfolk Virginian Pilot November 10, 1937
Sidney Wilson Petty, aged 74, son of Joab and Mary Dudley Petty, died at his 
residence at London Bridge, Princess Anne County, yesterday morning at 4:35 
o'clock after a long illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Princess 
Anne and had lived in the house in which he was born his entire life. He is 
survived by five nieces, Mrs. Titus Sawyer, Miss Emeline W. Malbon, Mrs. J.R. 
White, Mrs. A.A. Boothe and Mrs. Robert Wilkinson; five nephews, Joseph 
Belanga, D.O. Malbon, W.H. Belanga, J.C. Malbon and Harry Petty.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ewell & Williamson Funeral Home, 
Thirty-fifth street at Colonial avenue, tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock, the 
Rev. W.J. Meade, D.D., pastor of the London Bridge Baptist Church, officiating. 
Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
