Norfolk Journal and Guide, May 15,1954
Henry Phelps, of 1232 St. Julian avenue, died at 11:35 p.m. May 5 at his 
residence. Funeral rites were held at 1:30 p.m. May 9 at St. Mary's 
Pentecostal Church with Elder Martin officiating.

Mr. Phelps was a native of Princess Anne county. He was the son of the Edward 
and Mrs. Martha Cornick Phelps.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Henrietta Phelps; and his son, Henry Phelps Jr., 
of Norfolk. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
