E.A. Phelps, 303 Poplar Avenue. Mrs. Phelps was a native of Shawboro, Currituck County, N.C., but had lived here for 48 years. She was the widow of Capt. W.T. Phelps and is survived by two sons, Capt. E.A. and Joseph T. Phelps, of Norfolk; two brothers, W.R. and H.S. Gilbert, of Camden County, N.C.; one sister, Mrs. Frank Bell, of Elizabeth City, N.C. and 12 grandchildren. She was an active member of Memorial Methodist Church and had a wide circle of friends. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the funeral home of E. Lee Cox, 124 East Berkley Avenue.
