Mrs. Elizabeth Phelps, 31, of 910 Tyler Street, died Sept. 8 at a Norfolk
hospital following a short illness.  Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m.
Sept 12, at Hale’s Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. P. C. Davis officiating.

A native of Hertford, NC, Mrs. Phelps was the daughter of John and Mrs. Sally
Carter Sykes.  The husband, Thomas Phelps Jr., also survives.

Interment was at Calvary Cemetery.
