NORFOLK - Mrs. Rose Gillerlain Phelps, 78, of 9450 Phillip Ave., the widow of 
Charles L. Phelps Sr. and a native of Portsmouth, died Tuesday in her home.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mary P. Rhodes and Mrs. Frances 
Augustine of Norfolk, and Mrs. Regina Scotece of Virginia Beach; a son, Charles 
L. Phelps Jr. of Texas; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive.

NORFOLK - A funeral service for Mrs. Rose Gillerlain Phelps, 78, of 9450 Phillip 
Ave., will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church by the Rev. 
John Dorgan. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The Rosary will be 
recited tonight at 7:30 in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive. The 
family will be at 9450 Garrett Ave.
