John Phillips, a merchant seaman, died May 20 in Gorgas hospital, Balboa 
Heights, Canal Zone at the age of 59.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Phillips of Norfolk and the husband of 
Mrs. Mary Francis Phillips who survives him.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 5 at 2 p.m. in the Morning Glory 
Funeral Chapel.  The Rev. J. Q. A. Lassiter officiated.  Burial was in Calvary 
Cemetery with Morning Glory Funeral Home in charge.
