Virginian-Pilot July 24, 1943
PHILLIPS, MARIE MARSHALL - At the residence, 423 West Nineteenth street, Thursday 
morning, July 22, 1943, at 11:12 o’clock, MRS. MARIE MARSHALL PHILLIPS, wife of 
Dr. Henry W. Phillips, and a daughter of the late John H. and Mary Elizabeth 
Johnson Marshall, aged 66 years. The body will be taken from the Cox Funeral Home, 
631 Westover avenue at Manteo street, to Sacred Heart Church, where funeral 
services will be conducted THIS (Saturday) MORNING at 11 o’clock. Friends of the 
family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
