Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark December 27, 1918

The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Smith Pickett, widow of Major Charles Pickett, 
whose death occurred Wednesday morning at her home in the Botetourt Apartments, 
will be held this afternoon at 1 o'clock at Christ Episcopal Church, of which 
she was a member.  Rev. Francis C. Steinmetz, rector, will conduct the services. 
Burial will be in Elmwood. Mrs. Pickett was a native of Fredericksburg and has 
been for the past 45 years a resident of this city. She leaves two daughters, 
Misses Sophie J. and Elizabeth T. Pickett; a son, H. Clay Pickett; and four 
grandsons: Lieut. Charles Pickett, U.S.A., now in France, H. Clay Pickett, Jr., 
Watts Pickett and William Pickett.
