Norfolk Virginian Pilot December 27, 1942
Allen Towell Pickett, 77, died at a local hospital Friday night at 11:45 o'clock 
after a long illness.  He was the son of the late Robert and Henrietta Orrel 
Pickett.  He was a native of Mathews County, but had been a resident of Norfolk 
for the past seven years, residing at 811 West Forty-first street.  He is survived 
by two daughters, Mrs. H.P. Suddith and Miss Annie M. Pickett, of Norfolk; four 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral chapel of James V. Derry, 1920 
Colley avenue, this afternoon at 2 o'clock.  The Rev. John Largent, pastor of the 
Glenwood Park Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. W.H.T. Squires, D.D., will 
officiate  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
