Virginian-Pilot  December 21, 1937
Herbert Umberto Picone, aged 48, son of the late Joseph and Mrs. Rosa C. Picone, a 
native of Italy and a well known resident of Norfolk for the past 32 years, died 
at 9:45 o'clock yesterday morning at a local hospital. He resided at 827 West 
Thirty-fifth street. Mr. Picone was a member of Norfolk Lodge No. 38, B. P. 0. 
Elks, and Roma Lodge, Sons of Italy. He was a veteran of the World War. Surviving 
him are two sisters. Mrs. M. Gambardella and Mrs. N. Guerrieri; one brother, 
Vincent Picone, all of Norfolk, and several nieces and nephews.
The body will be taken from the residence, 827 West Thirty-fifth street, to 
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, for funeral services tomorrow morning at 10 
o’clock. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
