Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark February 18, 1927

Rufus D. Pierce - Funeral services of Mr. Pierce, who died at his home in 
Portsmouth, Wednesday morning, were conducted at the funeral home of J.R. 
Williams, 13 Chesapeake Avenue, South Norfolk, yesterday afternoon at 4 
o'clock.  The Rev. J.H. Knibb, pastor of the Church of Christ, Disciples, 
officiated.  Mrs. C.W. Tillett, a member of the choir, sang "Face to Face". 
The pallbearers were Leslie Onley, William Byrum, E.C. Wickens, George Casper, 
E.S. Adkins and L.F. White.  Burial was in the family lot in Magnolia 
Cemetery.
