Virginian Pilot January 23, 1900

Mr. M.E. Pierce, formerly of Princess Anne County, passed away at his home, 
No. 19 Walke Street, Sunday after a short illness, aged 53 years.  A widow 
survives him.  His funeral was held from the residence at 3 o'clock yesterday 
afternoon and was conducted by Rev. Dr. J.J. Taylor, of Freemason Street 
Baptist Church.  The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.
