Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, May 21, 1998 
Georgette Pierce, 91, of the 2400 block of Tidewater Drive, died May 17, 1998,
at a local nursing home.

Born in Scotland Neck, N.C., she was a homemaker and a member and church mother
at Pentecostal Holiness Church, Churchland. She was preceded in death by her
husband, James R. Pierce.

Survivors include two sons, John Edward Pierce of Portsmouth, Leandrew Pierce of
Norfolk; two sisters, Mary G. Clark and Corine Smith, both of Scotland Neck,
N.C.; one sister-in-law, Mamie Pierce of Norfolk; one nephew, Bishop Samuel
Green Jr. of Newport News; two daughters-in-law, Mary Lee Pierce, Louise Pierce;
and 12 grandchildren from Norfolk and Portsmouth.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday at Pentecostal Holiness Church, 6000
Auther Ave., Portsmouth, by Elder Thad Brinkley. Burial will be in Calvary
Cemetery . Hale Funeral Home is in charge.
