Mr. Frank Pierce, a well-known and highly respected citizen, died at his 
residence, No. 156 Bermuda Street, yesterday afternoon about 12:30 o’clock, in 
the 65th year of his age. Death resulting indirectly from paralysis, the third 
stroke of which he received not long ago, although he had been confined to his 
home about two and a half years. During the recent war the deceased was a 
member of the Thirteenth Virginia Calvary, and a number of years was junior 
member of the firm of Pullen & Pierce, carriage manufacturers, and after the 
death of Mr. Pullen, conducted the business alone. He married a daughter of Mr. 
Pullen who, with two daughters, Mrs. J.L. Watkins and Miss Nannie Pierce, 
survive him.

The funeral of Mr. Frank Pierce, who died on Monday last, took place at his 
residence, No. 156 Bermuda Street, this afternoon at 4:30 o’clock. The 
interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.
