Virginian-Pilot March 20, 1974
RICHARD MORTON PINNER, JR., 38, of 939 Round Bay Road, Norfolk, died Monday in a 
Richmond hospital. A native of Norfolk and a son of S. M. and Mrs. Lydia White 
Staples, he was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Besides his mother and father, he is survived by his grandmother, Mrs. W. J. 
White of Norfolk; one son, Edward Pinner of New York City; one brother, Charles 
M. Pinner of New London, Conn.; two half-brothers, William S. Staples of Norfolk 
and Robert K. Staples of Alexan¬dria.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A Christian Wake service will be 
said in the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, tonight at 7.
