The deceased was a young lady of many beautiful traits of character, for which she was loved and admired by a large circle of friends and acquaintances, who will learn with sorrow of her untimely death. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and before her last illness was actively interested in its welfare. The funeral will be held from the residence of her parents at 3 o'clock this afternoon and will be conducted by Rev. David W. Howard, of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, assisted by Rev. McD. Howsare, of the Christian Memorial Temple. The interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. *********************************************************** The funeral of Miss Virginia Louise Pitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.A. Pitt, was held from the residence of her parents, 118 North Maltby Avenue, at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon and a wealth of beautiful floral tributes attesting the love and esteem in which the deceased was held in the community. The service was conducted by Rev. David W. Howard, of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and Rev. McD. Howsare, of the Christian Memorial Temple. The remains were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery. Following were the pallbearers: Elwood Moore, Judson Pettis, J. Dudley Richardson, O.L. Powell Jr., Clarence T. Twiddy and Marian Salyer. Besides her parents the deceased is survived by three brothers, Charles M. Pitt, of Bluefield, West Va. and John J. and M.A. Pitt Jr., both of Norfolk.
