Charlotte St., died Monday at 6 p.m. in a Norfolk hospital after a short illness. She was a daughter of Turner Bynum and the late Mrs. Dora Bynum. A native of Pinetops, NC, she had lived in Norfolk 19 years. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she served in the pastor’s aid society. Surviving are her husband, Billy Pitt; two sons, Melvin T. Pitt and Hardy G. Pitt; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Ethel Sharpe, all of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Letha Davis and Mrs. Flannie Battle; three brothers, Lester Bynum, Fred Bynum and Turner Bynum, Jr., all of Pinetops. The body was taken to the Morning Glory Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Antioch Baptist Church Sunday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. J. W. Matthews, pastor.
