William Lee Pitt, Sr., age 55 years, husband of Mrs. Harriett Ellen Pitt, and 
son of Mrs. Sarah Ann Quinn Pitt, and the late John B. Pitt, a native of 
Portsmouth, Va., and for the past 11 years a resident of Norfolk, died at 4:15 
o’clock yesterday morning at the residence, 605 Chesapeake street, Ocean View. 
Mr. Pitt was a member of the Holy Name Society of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. 
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by three sons, William Lee Pitt, 
Jr., Vincent U. Pitt and John B. Pitt; four daughters, Mrs. Mary E. Stout, Mrs. 
Christine A. Boyd, and the Misses Harriett E. and Catherine G. Pitt; three 
granddaughters, Gwendolyn and Barbara Boyd, and Nancy Pitt; three grandsons, 
Nelson Boyd, William Pitt and Phillip Parnham; and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie 
Barkley and Mrs. Laura Barker. Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity 
Catholic Church, Ocean View, tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be 
in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Portsmouth.
