Norfolk Virginian May 19, 1897

Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Pitts of No. 8 Cecelia Avenue had the sad misfortune to lose 
by death yesterday at 11 a.m. their only child, Mary Lucile, aged 9 months and 
16 days.  The funeral will take place today from the above residence and will be 
conducted by the Rev. J.W. Moore at 3:30 p.m.

PITTS - At the residence of her parents, No. 8 Cecelia Avenue, Tuesday,, May 18. 
1897, at 11 a.m., MARY LUCILLE, only child of E.A. and Mary E. Pitts, age 9 
months and 16 days.
Funeral from above residence at 3:30 p.m. THIS (Wednesday) AFTERNOON. Friends 
and acquaintances invited to attend.

The obsequies of Mary Lucille, the interesting daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.A. 
Pitts, took place yesterday  from the residence of her parents, No. 8 Cecelia 
Avenue, Brambleton.  The remains were interred in Elmwood Cemetery.
