Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, December 24, 1997 
Joyce Lorraine ``L'il Sister'' Pitts, 58, of the 1200 block of Glyndon Drive,
died of natural causes Dec. 21, 1997, in a Sentara nursing home.

Born in Roper, N.C., she was employed by NationsBank and a member of Union
Bethel Church of God in Christ, Portsmouth.

Survivors include a daughter, Joycelyn Renee Pitts of Virginia Beach; three
sons, Keith Alexander Norman Sr. of Virginia Beach, Lindbergh Pitts Jr. and
Darron ``Tony'' Pitts, both of Norfolk; two sisters, Dorethea Bagby of
Chesapeake and Dorothy Kenion of Norfolk; four brothers, William S. Norman of
McLean, Va., Kennith B. Norman of Queens, N.Y., Curtis T. Norman of Richmond and
Harold Baum of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and
a longtime dear friend, Rosalyn Dawson.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday in the chapel of Hale Funeral Home,
Norfolk, by the Rev. Clarence Everett. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The
family and friends will assemble at 11 a.m. Friday at the residence for the
procession.
