Plate, 74, a native of Weston, W., Va., died Sunday in his home at 1630 W. Little Creek Road. Mr. Plate had retired as a pharmacist at Gray’s Pharmacy after 30 years. He had graduated from the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife Hazel M. Plate; a daughter, Gay Marie Pappas of Norfolk; a sister, Anne Murphy of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, Jack Plate of Buffalo, N.Y.; and four grandchildren The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Blessed Sacrament Chapel by the Rev. Thomas Nee. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel.
