Virginian-Pilot July 21, 1946
Robert Andrew Polk, 52, husband of Mrs. Minnie Esther Polk, and son of the late 
Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Polk, died at a local hospital, yesterday at 5:10 a.m. A 
World War I veteran, he was a native of San Antonio, Tex., and a resident of 
this section for 26 years, at 1952 East Ocean View Avenue at the time of his 
death. He was a member of Norfolk Lodge 38, B. P. O. Elks.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Minnie Esther Polk, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. 
Emma Downing, of Honolulu; three brothers, J. C., Henry and Kay Polk, all of San 
Antonio, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Holy Trinity 
Catholic Church, Ocean View, of which Mr. Polk was a member, for services Monday 
at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be 
held at the funeral apartments tonight at 7:30 o’clock.
