Pollard, 87, of 761 B avenue died in Lake Taylor Hospital after a long illness. A native of Roper, NC, she lived here 50 years. She was the daughter of the late Mary and George Stuart and the wife of the late Lee Pollard. She was a member of Queen Street Baptist Church, its Pastor Aid, Dorcas Club, Metropolitan Club, Pleasant Jenkins Missionary Society, Margaret Francis Chapter of Eastern Star. Surviving are a son Earl T. Pollard, a daughter, Mrs. Edith P. Duggins, both of Norfolk, three granddaughters, Mrs. LaVernne J. Barks of Portsmouth, Mrs. Edith J. Josey of Washington DC; and Mrs. Lila S. Mudd of Oakland CA; a grandson, Darryle E. Pollard of Jefferson City, TN; eight great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. A funeral service was held in Queen Street Baptist Church by the Rev. J. Jasper Freeman. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Riddick Funeral Home had charge.
