VIRGINIA BEACH - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Purdy Pollock, 73, of 5148 Amberly Road, 
the widow of Raymond Alvin Pollock and a native of Norfolk, died Thursday 
morning in a hospital.
She was a Tidewater resident all of her life and a member of St. Gregory’s 
Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Betty Anne Simmons of Virginia Baach and 
Mrs. Kathleen F. Ray of Herndon, Va.; a sister, Miss Anne F. Purdy of Virginia 
Beach; a brother, Charles E. Purdy Jr. of Norfolk; and seven grandchildren.
A prayer service will be held tonight at 7 in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 
Kempsville Chapel. The family will be at her home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Gregory’s Catholic 
Church, with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
