Virginian Pilot July 13, 1991

George W. Ponton, of the 2300 block of Arkansas Ave., died July 10, 1991, in 
Norfolk.
Mr. Ponton was born in Northampton County, N.C. He was a member of Mt. Zion 
Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy B. Ponton; a daughter, Joyce Miller of 
Norfolk; two sons, George Montgomery of Florida and Donte Perry of Virginia 
Beach; three brothers, Floyd L. Ponton, Lloyd Ponton and Claud W. Ponton, 
all of New York; and two grandchildren.
The graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Magnolia 
Cemetery by the Rev. J.L. Kearney Sr. Hale Funeral Home is handling 
arrangements.
