Norfolk - Waverly N. Ponton of 1344 W. 40th St. died March 15 in his home.


A native of Norfolk, he was a member of First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point,
and a retired employee of Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

Surviving are a daughter, Miss Rachel Ponton, and three sons, Isaiah N. Ponton,
George H. Ponton, and Mark E. Ponton, all of Norfolk.

A funeral service was held March 19 in First Baptist Church, Lamberts Point, by
the Rev. M. L. Williams.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Graves Funeral
Home in charge.
