Norfolk Journal and Guide, April 4, 1942
Final service for Willis Ponton,54, of 925 Howard Street, who died at his home
March 27, was held at Hale’s Chapel March 30 with the Rev. R. L. Laws
officiating.  Born in Halifax County, NC, he had lived here 30 years.  Burial
was in Calvary Cemetery.
