Born in Sumter, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Dora James and Peter Cabbagestalk. She was a homemaker and a member of Huntersville Senior Center. She was predeceased by her husband, William H. ``Buddy'' Poole, and grandson, James Knox. She is survived by a daughter, Viola Holley of Norfolk; a son, Nathaniel Knox Jr. of New Haven, Conn.; four sisters, Octavia Richardson of Camden, N.J., Gertrude Staunton of Little Rock, S.C., Cora Palmer of Clio, S.C., Louise Page of Philadelphia, Pa.; two brothers, John Cabbagestalk of Latta, S.C., and Tommy Johnson of Little Rock, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 36 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Ellery Poole and Almeta Harrington, who gave their time, devotion and care during her long illness. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Macedonia United Christian Church, 1426 Marshall Avenue, by Elder A.D. Wright. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , Norfolk. Hale Funeral Home is in charge.
