RICHMOND - The Rev. Carlos Alexis Poole, 78, who formerly served Blessed 
Sacrament parish in Norfolk, died Sunday in a hospital.
Poole was born in Kentucky and was ordained a priest in the Catholic church in 
1929.
Survivors include a brother, Joe Poole of Miami; a nephew, Robert Poole of 
Philadelphia; and a niece, Mrs. Alice P. Walker of Ohio.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated tonight at 7:30 in Blessed 
Sacrament Catholic Church on Newport Avenue in Norfolk by Diocese Bishop Walter 
F. Sullivan.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Norfolk, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. 
H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, is handling arrangements. The body will 
be taken to church today at 5 p.m.
