The Virginian Pilot Tuesday January 24, 1961
Carl Norton Pope, 63, husband of Mrs. Rose Johnson Pope and son of the late 
James F. and Mrs. Flora Dickie Pope, died at 6:20 a.m. Monday at his home 
2701 Dunkirk Ave.
Mr. Pope was a native of Morrisonville, Ill., and lived in Norfolk 26 years.  
He was a member of Somme Avenue Church of Christ.
Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Manford C. Goodell of 
Harrisburg, Pa., two sisters, Mrs. Aura Colbrook and Mrs. Nellie Beaty, both 
of Morrisonville, Ill., and a brother, Oscar L. Pope of Peoria, Ill.
A funeral service will be conducted in H.D. Oliver Apartments Wednesday at 
1:30 p.m. by the Rev. W.F. Gregory of the Somme Avenue Church of Christ.  
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
