VIRGINIA BEACH — Mary Iatterelli Portafe of 1729 Lovetts Pond Lane, a native of 
Italy and the widow of Joseph E. Portafe, died Saturday in a hospital.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Women of the Moose and the 
American Legion Auxiliary and was very active with St. Mary’s Infant Home for 
many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Anne Marie “Cookie” Page of Virginia Beach and 
Frances P. Williams of Maple, N.C.; three sons, Edward J. Portafe and Anthony E. 
Portafe, both of Virginia Beach, and Maury L. Portafe of New Orleans; nine 
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church, with burial in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. A rosary will be said at 
H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, at 7 p.m. today.
