R.W. Porter, 82, S&L Executive Of Norfolk

Norfolk- Ralph Wiley Porter, 82, of 408 Dundaff St., a retired banker and 
vice president of Atlantic Permanent Savings & Loan Association, died Sunday 
in a hospital.
He was a former vice president of Seaboard Citizens National Bank and a 
director of the savings and loan association.
A native of Ripley, Ohio, he lived here most of his life. He was the husband 
of Mrs. Lillie Maude Jones Porter and a son of the Rev. Moses and Mrs. 
Margaret Culter Porter.
He was a member of Ghent Methodist Church.
Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Don S. Lewis of Norfolk; a 
son, George J. Porter of Richmond; a brother, the Rev. Paul Porter of 
Hertford, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in H.D. Oliver 
Funeral Apartments by the Rev. Beverly Felty of Ghent Methodist Church. 
Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
