The Virginian Pilot Wednesday August 24, 1960
Howard Marshall Portlock, 53, husband of Mrs. Virginia Chandler Portlock, died 
Tuesday at 7:05 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital.
A lifelong resident of Norfolk, he lived at 137 Lorengo Ave.  He was a son of 
Mrs. Martha Ward Portlock and the late Rosser L. Portlock.
He had worked as a sales representative for Petroleum Engineering Co. the last 
14 years. He was a member of Third Presbyterian Church, Charity Lodge 10, 
Knights of Pythias and Norfolk Sports Club.
Besides his wife and mother, surviving are two brothers, R. Leo Portlock of 
Norfolk and Cecil F. Portlock of Philadelphia.
A funeral service will be conducted at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Thursday at 2 
p.m.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
