He was a former superintendent of Globe Iron Construction Co. for more than 25 years, and retired from Virginia-Carolina Steel Company. Born in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Nellie Brummer Post and Hebert Humphrey Post. Mr. Post was a graduate of Granby High School, a member of St. Stephen, Martyr Roman Catholic Church, and was a volunteer for 20 years with the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad. He also served with the Virginia National Guard. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Marilyn F. Post; two daughters, Deborah and Elizabeth; two stepsons, Stephen V. Pappas of Chesapeake and Brian M. Pappas of Virginia Beach; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, in the Church of St. Stephen, Martyr Roman Catholic Church, 1544 S. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, by the Rev. Monsignor Michael D. McCarron. Burial will be private in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at a later date. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Chesapeake Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
