Marilyn was born to Joseph F. and Christine N. Fitzpatrick in Norfolk, Virginia. She was a graduate of Norfolk Catholic High School and retired from Virginia Carolina Steel Company. She was a current resident of The Reserve and a former member of Saint Stephen, Martyr Catholic Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. Marilyn was devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed frequent family gatherings with lively card games. She supported numerous animal service organizations and had a special fondness for cats. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents and her husband Herbert E. Post. Left to cherish her memory are her two beloved sons, Stephen Vincent (Lynn) and Brian Michael Pappas. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Evich; brothers, Joseph, Farrell, James, and William Fitzpatrick and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will also be missed by her friend since childhood, Sandra Douglas. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia.
