Irving Postove, 71, of the 600 block of Baldwin Ave, a retired locksmith, 
quietly passed away after a short illness June 20, 1993.
Mr. Postove was a native of Norfolk, and was the owner and proprietor of Wards 
Corner Key and Lock Company for 32 years. He was depended upon by many people 
as the "Key Man" at Wards Corner from 1955 until 1987. He graduated from Maury 
High School in 1941 and enlisted in the United States Army and served his 
country with distinction in the Philippines and Japan during World War II. He 
was heavily involved in local sports throughout most of his life both as an 
athlete in Norfolk City League as a young man and as a longtime basketball 
official. He was a lifetime member of B'Nai Israel Congregation in Norfolk. He 
will be greatly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Mr. Postove 
was a member of Jewish War Veterans and was active in the local Jewish 
Community Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Angie Schneiderman, of Lakewood, NJ; two sons, 
Jack Stark of Woodland Hills, CA, and Joe Postove of Norfolk; a sister, Mina 
Caplan of Portsmouth; three brothers, Harry Postove of Norfolk, Lee Postove of 
Winston Salem, NC, and Herman Postove of Washington, DC; six grandchildren; 
several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
A chapel service will be conducted at noon Tuesday in H. D. Oliver Funeral 
Apts, Norfolk, by Rabbi Shlomo Goder and Rabbi Israel Bornstein. Burial will be 
in B'Nai Israel Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will receive friends at his 
residence 624 Baldwin Ave.
