                   SCALDED SEAMAN DIES AT ST. VINCENT HOSPITAL

John Potts, a white seaman 58 years old, formerly a fireman aboard the barge 
Bavaria, who was scalded at sea while in that vessel, died yesterday at St. 
Vincent's Hospital.  Potts had no family or relatives.  He was born in 
Pennsylvania.  The officials of the marine hospital service took charge of the 
remains and the body will be buried this morning in Elmwood Cemetery.
