POWELL - At his residence No. 523 Freemason Street, Tuesday, October 15, 1907, 
at 7:30 p.m., JOSEPH B. POWELL, aged 44 years.
The funeral will take place THIS (Wednesday) AFTERNOON, October 16, 1907, at 4 
o'clock, from the residence. Friends and acquaintances respectfully invited to 
attend.

Joseph B. Powell, a well known and highly esteemed citizen of Norfolk, died 
yesterday evening at 7:30 o'clock at his home, No. 523 Freemason Street, after a 
short illness, aged 44 years. He is survived by his wife and son. He had been 
residing in this city for 13 years. The funeral will take place at 4 p.m. today 
from the residence, Rev. Dr. C.S. Blackwell of the First Baptist Church, 
officiating. Interment in Elmwood.

Joseph B. Powell died at his home, No. 523 Freemason Street, at 7:30 o'clock 
Tuesday evening after a brief illness in the 45th year of his age. He is 
survived by a widow and one son. The funeral was held from his late residence at 
4 o'clock yesterday afternoon and was conducted by Rev. Dr. C. S. Blackwell of 
the First Baptist Church. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.
