Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark October 18 ,1931

Mrs. Mary Hinton Powell, aged 61, wife of Julian Powell and daughter of the late 
Col. James W. and Susan Pool Hinton, died suddenly at 7:30 o'clock yesterday 
morning at her residence on Little Neck Road, Lynnhaven, Princess Anne County. 
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Richard HInton, William 
Carney and Julian Mallory Powell, all of Princess Anne County and two daughters, 
Mrs. W.H. Davis, Jr. of Norfolk and Miss Nancy Sledd Powell, of Lynnhaven, 
Princess Anne County. Funeral services will be held at the residence tomorrow 
morning at 11 o'clock, the Rev. F.B. Oglesby, pastor of Oceana M.E. Church, 
officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
