Funeral services for William Powell,  66, 809 Johnson avenue, who died in a 
local hospital October 14, were held at Hale’s Chapel, October 18.  The Rev. 
J. W. Purnell officiated.  Mr. Powell was born in Tarboro, NC, and had lived 
here 45 years.  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Minnie Powell;  three sons, four 
daughters, and four grandchildren.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
