Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark March 18, 1912

Mrs. Annie E. Powell, widow of the late James H. Powell, died last evening at 
8:20 o'clock at her home, 49 North Main street, after an illness of six weeks.
She was a native of Richmond and was in the sixtieth year of her age.  She had 
spent about 45 years of her life in this city.  She was well known and 
respected and is survived by four children.  They are Mrs. Grace Stennette, 
Henry L., James T. and P. Powell, all of this city.
She was a daughter of the late James E. Whitehurst of Richmond.
The funeral will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Chestnut street, 
Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
