Virginian-Pilot  June 1, 1935
Mrs. Mary A. Power, aged 81 years, widow of George P. Power, and daughter of the 
late Nicholas and Mary Murphy Leary, died yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock at 
the residence, 815 East Twenty-fifth street. Mrs. Power was a native of Ireland 
and had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 39 years. She is survived by four 
daughters, Mrs. William S. Neilass, of Norfolk; Mrs. Catherine Egelseer, of 
Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Bonnie E. Spry, and Mrs. Frank Murden, of Norfolk; 15 
grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Nicholas Leary, of 
Norfolk. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Monday 
morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
