Powers, aged 51, died at his home in Northwest, Norfolk County, at 7:15 o'clock last night. He was born in Currituck County, N.C., near the Virginia border, and lived in the district all his life. His death took place within about a mile of his birthplace. He was a son of the late W.L. and Mrs. Cordelia Culpepper Powers and a brother of N.B. Powers, a former member of the State Legislature. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Zola Northern Powers; two sons, N. Leslie Powers and Tennyson Poe Powers; two daughters, Miss Helen Grant Powers and Miss Hazel Jet Powers; four brothers, N.B. Powers, Adolphus Powers, Lawson Powers and L.L. Powers; one sister, Miss Eugenia L. Powers, of Washington, D.C. and one grandson, N. Leslie Powers, Jr. Funeral services will be held at the residence at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning. The Rev. A.W. Burfoot will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot at Northwest.
