The Norfolk Virginian Pilot March 5, 1937

Mrs. Adelia B. Powers, aged 82 widow of Charles Powers, died at the residence, 
221 west Thirty-Sixth Street, yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. She was a 
native of Princess Anne County and had resided in Norfolk for 50 years. She 
was a member of McKendree Methodist Church. Mrs. Powers is survived by a 
daughter, Mrs. Grace Lowery, of Detroit; three grandchildren and several great-
grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home pending funeral 
arrangements.
